Marsh Hunting Preserveheader photo

Marsh Hunting Preserve began as a dream of Windel Marsh and his brother, Husmith Marsh, in 1960.  Opening in October of 1960 on approximately 400 acres of pine ridges, hardwood branches and 2 ponds, the preserve was a first for the Bulloch County area.  Quail hunting was a favorite pastime for many in this vicinity, but paying to hunt was something new and caught on slowly.  As the quail population declined, due to the clear-cutting of forests, the population explosion and some believe, the use of some pesticides, more hunters began to explore the possibility of preserve hunting.
